The release of a GOP memo detailing alleged abuses by the FBI and DOJ has made large waves in the news media and political sphere. As has become customary by whichever party is in the minority, they deny the accuracy of the memo and offer their own set of facts that support their purposes. The distortion of truth to suit desirable ends is nothing new to mankind. This tendency is something Peter wrote about, saying, “... (Paul’s) letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." There is truth to all things that happen on Earth and it is incumbent on each of us to seek it wherever it leads, regardless of if it fits our political preferences. When political gain supersedes spiritual truth, we stray from the path set out for us by God. Pray for the nation today and our leaders to pursue truth and guard your heart against being swayed by partial truths.
