Big news broke late last week that a meeting between President Trump and North Korean Dictator Kim Jung Un is in the works. Such a meeting is, hopefully, the first step in the process towards peace. While there is much buzz about how, when, where, and under what conditions this meeting must be taken, the most important thing for us all to be doing is praying for President Trump and all our governmental leaders. We may all have different opinions of our President and government, but in a case such as this, when a rogue nation who has leveled dire threats against us all seems to want to make a deal, we must turn to God in prayer for a desirable outcome. What would a desirable outcome look like? Look no further than 1 Timothy, where Paul says, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” The most desirable outcome of this and any venture is that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. Today, lift up President Trump, our government, and our nation in prayer asking for God to bless us with peace, quiet, godliness, and holiness.

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” — 1 Timothy 2:1-2
