The mounting tensions with countries such as China, Russia, and North Korea make it easy for worry, stress, or anxiety to creep into the lives of anyone paying attention to the news. We know from the Bible that God is in control of all things, but sometimes we still find ourselves drifting away from Him on a personal level. In those times, anxiety and stress can begin to rule our lives. David knew all too well what happens when we try to lead God instead of allowing God to lead us. He wrote in Psalm 16, “I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” If we try to march through life in front of God, we must be prepared to walk through barren deserts, dark forests, and challenging crossroads. By placing God in his rightful place in front of us, our paths become straighter, brighter, and more bountiful. Today, set the Lord before you and feel your confidence grow in being a follower of Jesus.

“I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” – Psalm 16:8 ESV
