This week the world witnessed the atrocious chemical attacks in Syria. While governments around the world debate over what steps to take next, there is a step we all can take that will have a lasting impact on the world. That step is daily, fervent prayer. Many believe prayer is just us talking to God or asking God to do things for us. However prayer is so much more than just an airing of grievances, it is a conversation. When we pray, and place all our focus on our relationship with God, we receive the answers we seek. In Mark, Jesus says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Prayer saves lives, heals nations, moves mountains, and changes hearts precisely because it is not just a one way conversation. Positive change happens when we act upon the wisdom gained in prayer. Today, pray for the people of Syria and their healing and thank God that we have a means to communicate directly with Him.
