As the Mueller investigation continues to elicit strong reactions across the nation, sometimes we all need to press the “reset” button on our priorities and the overall mentality with which we approach each day. Most of us start each day by flipping on the news, checking out our favorite websites, or reading emails. Often, whatever is contained in those actions can start our day well or poorly. Have you ever felt anxious or agitated simply because of something you read or heard? The reason we are called not place our faith in man but in God is because only God remains right when everything else around us goes wrong. In Psalm 118, it says, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” When we start each day by taking refuge in Jesus, we have the sustenance to endure the bumps and bruises brought by life. Today, make the commitment to open your Bible each morning and devote even just a few minutes to seeking Jesus.

“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” – Psalm 118: 8-9 ESV
