The rhetoric emitting from Washington surrounding Russia investigations and a potential new investigation into the investigators is heating up each and every day, causing some to live in a state of constant agitation simply because of politics. Such agitation can often lead to us into doing or saying things that we might not normally. When we place our hope and faith in the righteousness of man, we dive headfirst into a downward spiral of disappointment and bitterness. Jesus declared to his disciples at the Last Supper, who were rightfully agitated after he had just finished saying he would not always be with them, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” Place your faith in God and in me, Jesus said, and you will have the resilience to endure the trials of life and the hope to always consider your future to be ever better than your present. Today, let not your heart be troubled by all you hear and see in the news and politics, for your future will be ever better than your present when lived with Jesus.

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” – John 14:1 ESV
