The rescue of the Thai boys and their coach from a cave was truly miraculous. To have spent over two weeks in complete darkness with no food or water (other than the little from the cave walls), and emerge safely is nothing short of miraculous. It is not often a dire situation such as this finishes with a happy ending, but whether they do or not, God is always worthy of being glorified. But can you imagine being lost in the dark for so long? Maybe not physically, as these boys were, but many of us have had to fumble and feel our way through dark times with no roadmap or light at the end of the tunnel. It has just been complete and utter darkness. In those times, God is never more present, but it is for us to seek His light in our darkness. In Psalms, it says, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." It also says in Psalms, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” In dark times, God promises us that He is with us and by reading His word in the Bible, we will have light by which to walk into freedom. Today, give thanks to our Almighty God for delivering these boys and their coach to safety and remember that no matter what we may be going through, we always have a faithful companion and light to walk through it with.
