The primary and special elections results of Tuesday made big news as the nation prepares for the midterm elections in November. Both sides of the political aisle continue to jockey for position and are attempting to make election day 2018 seem like the most important day of our lives this year. Such is the nature of politics. But when our hope and joy resides in Jesus and not politicians, every day can be the most important day of our lives because we have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Paul wrote to the Philippians, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” He did not say that the Holy Spirit will come and go day by day. He also didn’t say that every day will be a good day – Lord knows that is not the case. He said, “he that began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” Sometimes that means we will struggle, sometimes that means we will soar. However, when we have the joy of Christ within us, there is nothing that can deflate us. Today, share your joy in Christ with others and make the difference that they are seeking elsewhere.
