On this Labor Day, most of us have the day off from work or school as a national recognition of the achievements of the American worker. Having a job, or the ability to pursue a meaningful career through education, is a blessing that so many across the world do not have. We spend the majority of our time on earth at work, just as we were designed, but often our work can feel meaningless or mundane. However when we work to glorify God, it does not matter if we clean toilets or run a company for a living — we are making a difference in the Kingdom of God. The end of Psalm 90 offers a prayer for the working person, saying, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.” When God establishes the work of our hands, the results will be blessed. Today, pray for God to bless your hands to work for His glory.

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.” — Psalm 90:17
