The past few weeks of politics have been some of the most contentious, bitter, and cruel in recent memory. It has come to a point where both sides truly question the motives of the other and their supporters, which is something not normal in our country at large. On all things, we will have disagreement; however, we should not have the sense that all on the other side are evil. So where to we go from here? How do we get back to a place of common and mutual respect? The Bible says, “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” The way forward from this place of doubt in the motives of others is to purposefully act with love to those you question. Show the world who you are and who your Savior is by your actions. Today, be the first to outstretch a hand of help and love to those who you disagree with. Trust God to take over from there.
