As the election candidates finalize their campaigns this week, we all are faced with decisions as to who to cast our vote for. It has been a brutal several months with a barrage of negative ads and heated rhetoric from both sides. Overall, it has been quite a fight for the next two years of governmental control. Fighting is nothing new for people though; we have been doing it since we were exiled from Eden. If we look at history, those who have won battles are seldom the winners forever. It can be easy to get lost in the back and forth volleys and attacks each day in politics, but the one sure way to rise above them is to root our foundation in Jesus. The Bible says:

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

People will always be fighting, but God will always be the winner. Today, renew your faith and foundation in Jesus and be not moved from Him no matter which way the election goes.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV
