As we all awake this morning, some are happy their candidates won while others are not. However, we have as a country made it through another election cycle and the next two years of federal leaders have been elected by us, the people of the United States. For that we can be thankful. But dealing with disappointment effectively and winning with grace are both skills that we all must work on together. When we have both, we will have a more peaceful society. Jesus beckoned for peace many times, but most famously in his Sermon on the Mount. He said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Regardless of who won, pray for a more peaceful two years than the last two. Be the peacemaker you wish our nation had more of. Today, pray for peace and commit to being a peacemaker in your community.
