The devastating and deadly wildfires in California are a tragedy of great human suffering. Whenever these mass devastations occur, whether wildfire, hurricane, flooding or otherwise, it can be difficult for us to grasp where God is in the middle of it all. The same is true when we are in the middle of a personal crisis. In our confusion, we act out of desperation and many times, we make things worse for ourselves and others. The Bible says, “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress.” One of the greatest leaps of faith we each will make is being still in times of crisis and trusting God to provide. Today, pray for those affected by the California wildfires and if you are dealing with your own crisis, trust God, be still, and have faith that He will provide for you.

“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress.” — Psalm 45:10-11 NIV
