Is forgiveness still something we do today? It seems, if we watch the news, that forgiveness is a skill that does not happen in public life anymore. Holding grudges, taking offense, and “clapping back” is now the norm in the political realm and that has real consequences in our lives and the lives of the most impressionable in our society. Too many say that they cannot forgive the other side because they care too much the future generations. But if we forget how to forgive, we will doom the next generations that we are trying to protect. The Bible tells us exactly how to forgive and that is just one of the reasons why it should still be taught and believed in. It says, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Today, be a forgiver to those around you and take a stand for the virtues that the Bible teaches us.

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” — Colossians 3:13 NIV
