The state funeral of President George H.W. Bush yesterday was a great spectacle, uniting the country and all its former and current leaders in remembrance of a great man. While we all will not have such pomp and circumstance at our funerals one day, we can be sure that the greeting we shall receive from our Father in Heaven will far exceed it. For when we live our lives for God and by faith in Jesus, we guarantee that our souls will be welcomed home like the prodigal son. But how do we live such a life that is pleasing to God? Look no further than 1 Corinthians 10:31, which says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” You can be sure of your life’s work if it is honoring God to His glory. Today, reflect upon how you can bring your steps in life closer to God and ways in which you can honor Him further.
