The President’s address and the Democratic response last night dominated the news coverage and was seen by the entire country. Though our government remains bitterly divided, there is something we all can be doing to steer our country forward in the right direction: prayer. No one person can change the course of a nation, but when we join together in prayer, we all are lifting up our hearts to the One who can. In Philippians, it says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“ A nation who prays first is a nation that is heading in the right direction. Today, pray that our country moves closer to God and therefore, further from hate, division, and bitter partisanship.
