President Trump and the Democratic leaders had an angry exchange yesterday over accusations made by the Democrats that led to the ending of talks about a bipartisan infrastructure deal. These sorts of communication breakdowns are common in Washington, but withdrawing from those different than us instead of working with them is just as common outside of Washington, too. Consider a basketball team: if they had 5 small, agile point guards, they might win a few games, but would lose to teams with taller, stronger players. The same is true for a team full of tall, lanky centers. It is in contrast that individual abilities shine best. The Bible tells us, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.” Today, consider how your ideas and abilities can join with others with different ideas and abilities to create something truly special.
