One of the most challenging aspects of faith, especially in a world as confusing and troubling as the one we live in, is knowing whether or not God hears our prayers – especially when the things we pray for do not happen. We all experience both triumphs and sorrows in life and it can be truly faith-shaking when we are walking through a time of sorrow. How can we trust that God hears us in our times of need? John wrote in the Bible, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” If we trust that the Bible is God’s word to us, then we can also trust that he hears us when we call out to Him. Today, if you are walking through sorrow, trust that God hears you, sees you, and is working to lift you up right now.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” – 1 John 5:14 NIV
