If you watch the news, it's easy to see that accepting responsibility is something incredibly rare amongst public officials and politicians. But, if we are honest with ourselves, the same is true for each of us. No one likes to accept blame when things don’t go according to plan. God knows the days in which he has placed each of us and equipped each of us to face them in His name. It is no accident that each of us is alive today and aware of the many challenges this world faces. Us blaming our circumstances for the things we personally do in life, to God, is like a child blaming the stairs for breaking a toy that the child threw down them. If we step back and consider our words and actions from an eternal and Godly perspective, we can immediately pick out many decisions that we should not have made. Paul reminded the Romans that, “each of us will give an account of himself to God” one day. Begin preparing for that conversation today by taking responsibility for your faith, your actions, and your words. God rewards those who live faithfully and who made the most of their time on earth to bless others in His name.

“So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.” – Romans 14:12 ESV
