Labor Day is a holiday that honors the working people of our country and gives most of us a day off from that work. We all need breaks from work from time to time, and work can cause incredible stress and fatigue in our lives. However, work is a blessing. The ability to produce some sort of product by our hands or our minds is not only a blessing to those who receive it, but it is also a blessing to us. Work gives to us as much, if not more, than it requires from us. Paul wrote, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Today, thank the Lord for the blessing of work that brings blessings for our families, communities, and ourselves.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23 NIV
