The beginning of the week brings an onslaught of news, stress, deadlines, and other undesirable things that our weekends usually lack. The stress of a fast paced life takes a toll on all of us. Stress always has one of two effects: it can bring out the best or the worst in us. In order for stress to bring out the best in us, we must face it with courage and not fear. God says to us, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Stress is conquered only by courage, and courage is mustered by knowing that where you go, God goes as well. Today, be courageous in facing what stresses you through faith in God’s goodness.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
