One of the greatest and most constant pressures in life is the feeling that we always need to be in control and leading our own lives. The pressure to be thoughtful and smart in our decisions for our future is stressful at the least and terrifying if left unchecked. The truth, though, is that God did not create us and send his only begotten son to die for us so that we would live fearful of our own futures. Good times will come as well as bad times, but God promises that He will be there leading us through them all. In Isaiah, it says, “For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand, and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” The pressure to lead our own life subsides when we decide to simply take God’s hand and follow. Today, if you are struggling with decisions before you, pray for God’s hand to lead you where you need to be.
