The news today surrounds the political battles between various people and groups, both party versus party and within political parties. Politics is an arena where peace is unlikely to ever occur, as the entire idea of politics is about power. But it is possible because with God, all things are possible. But with God, all things still require work and faith on our part. Jesus said in his Sermon on the Mount, “ “Happy are those who work for peace; God will call them his children!” Peace requires prayer and work; God creates it when we work in His name and He gets the glory. God getting the glory for our work is a key piece of peacemaking because when God gets the credit, there is no strife between those who did the work. Today, as we all want what is best for our nation and its leaders, remember that peace comes when we work for it together and give the glory to God.

“Happy are those who work for peace; God will call them his children!” — Matthew 5:9
