Belief is a powerful thing. What we believe wholeheartedly constitutes the way we see and interact with the world. Because of this, it is worth reminding ourselves often what it is that we believe and what beliefs are most important to us. We all have political beliefs that we wish to see reflected in our nation and espoused by those we support. But is a politician or law more important than the belief we hold in Jesus? Of course not, however, that distinction can be hard to remember when our political passions are ignited. The Bible says, that those who believe in the Lord, “will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” This sounds great, right? This is the truth and within our grasp if we do one thing: place our belief in Jesus first and ignite our passion for him instead of for the world. Today, remember what beliefs are most important and if you feel your political passions ignited by what is going on in this country, divert that spark to passions that will actually make a difference in your life.

“but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31 NIV
