God loves each of us deeply – so much so that He has created us individually for a specific purpose. But while His love for us is easy to feel, His purpose for us is often more difficult to see – especially when the enemy’s purposes are always apparent. God has a way of not “tipping his hand” to clue us in to all He is doing, but He is always working for our benefit behind the scenes even when we farthest from Him. When we are making a decision to pursue something we feel called for, determining whether that is a calling from God or a temptation by the enemy is difficult. One way to know the difference is this: God’s calling will always require you to step out in faith while the enemy’s temptation will always make you feel safe in your next step. There is not a single hero in the Bible who did not step out in complete faith, trusting God to produce the fertile ground on which their foot would land. In addition, as we know, God is the same forever. This is still the method God uses to bless us richly. Today, if you are facing a decision, prayerfully choose the step that requires God to show up and trust that He will.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
