There is much we see people, celebrities, and politicians in the media doing that we disagree with – sometimes politically, other times morally. But for us to judge them is just as wrong as if they were to judge any of us. After all, Jesus called out such behavior, saying, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” But what this verse calls out more than our penchant for judging others is our own behavior that is contrary to God’s will. Proverbs addresses the things we do in life, saying, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” “Whatever you do” is more than just your work, it is truly your daily behavior. A good way to change your behavior that goes against God’s will is this: If you feel wrong committing something you are about to do to the Lord, that is His sign that you should not be doing it. Today, commit all you do to the Lord each day, and watch as your behavior changes to better reflect His will.
