The nation heard the President’s State of the Union address Tuesday night and Wednesday saw the Senate vote to acquit the President, thus bringing an end to the impeachment saga. A lot has happened and a tremendous amount of bad blood between our leaders and amongst the people of this country still lingers. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just put it all behind us and move forward together? It is possible, but only with Jesus. In the Book of John, Jesus comes across a large group of people suffering from blindness, lameness, and paralysis. Jesus, with nothing but a command, cured a paralyzed man and enabled him to walk for the first time in his life. This country has settled into a period when remaining as paralyzed by our political opinions as that man is viewed as an acceptable way of life. Jesus has so much more for us than to remain paralyzed in such a state. Today, follow Jesus’s command to the paralyzed man and follow the path forward behind Jesus.

“Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” — John 5:8 ESV
