The nation’s presidential election has many across the nation defining themselves by the candidate or party they represent. Even more granularly, the election has us defining ourselves by certain immutable characteristics we have. Voting is a good thing but defining ourselves by anything other than what God intended only hurts our ability to share in the joy of the Lord together. The Bible says, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” Instead of seeking a party to belong to on earth, join the family of God in Heaven. Today, throw off the shackles of what this world may label you by and be nothing but a beloved child of God.
