Everyone is a little tired and a little angry these days because of the relentless drum beat of politics in our daily lives. It’s ok to be frustrated when something happens we do not agree with and it’s ok to be tired from time to time because of our efforts. But behind faith, perseverance is one of the greatest virtues Jesus desires from us. We will all be dealt setbacks and work ourselves to fatigue in life, but we are not called to give up or give in so easily to sin when we hit those walls. The Bible says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.“ God willing, life goes on even when we are tired, broken, or angry. We either run the race set out before us to glorify Jesus, or we do not. Today, if you are discouraged, tired, broken, or angry because of what life has dealt you so far, take heart and persevere because Jesus died to give you that opportunity.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” — Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV
