As the Presidential race continues on and the media continues to cover it non-stop, it can be hard for anyone who even turns on the news today to not have their thoughts soured against whatever side they disagree with. Our thoughts about each other determine our actions towards each other — including our capacity to love. When we place our focus on God each day, we do not allow the sins and strife of the world to affect our minds. In Isaiah, it says of God, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Anything that poisons our thoughts against each other is not worth consuming. Today, replace the negative thoughts from media with the positive encouragement of the Bible.
