We all face tests in life when the only way to make it through is by being strong. Sometimes our challenges require physical strength, other times emotional or spiritual strength. These days, to overcome the spread of the coronavirus, it requires strength of character. Stopping this virus is not only about guarding ourselves against it, but more importantly, guarding those who are most susceptible to it. Caring more about the well-being of others than our own short term enjoyment or ease is a test of character. We are all capable of varying degrees of strength, but we are not capable of facing some challenges alone. Standing in the face of incredible circumstances requires a strength we cannot possibly summon by ourselves. In Philippians, it says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Never underestimate the unique strength we can wield from faith in God. Today, give thanks for the strength of our God that He wields in our lives as well as that He bestows upon us in times of challenge. With God, we can do this together.

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13 NIV
