Thankfully, there seems to be good news starting to come on the fight against this virus. However, prayer for our leaders and country is still incredibly necessary. When we pray for more than just our own wants or needs, we create the real change rather the world needs rather than just receive what we need to get through the day. In James, it says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” Praying for each other has two effects: it lifts others up to God and lifts our eyes off our own desires and problems. Today, pray for our nation and its leaders that we may be able to overcome this virus and get back to our lives and work.

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” — James 5:16 NIV
