Happy Elevated Friday! Today we highlight a story of overwhelming giving that is reviving a community in need. We’ve all see the destruction in Minneapolis at the hands of rioters, but what we do not often see are the people coming behind them to clean up and provide for those in need. Recently, a Minneapolis middle school held a food drive to support those whose livelihoods had been taken from them due to damage from the riots. What was expected to be a modest turnout of maybe 100 bags of groceries turned out to be so much more that went on to feed hundreds of families in need. The outpouring of support shows how God provides for those in need through his people.

Social upheaval and economic stress can cause us to become bitter over what is happening. But God calls his people to show others who He is in the midst of the storms others are facing. Whether it is a changed heart, a given blessing, or a said prayer, times such as these provide opportunities for all of us to show others who God truly is. The Bible says, “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.“ Today, find a way to show someone who God is through blessing them in their time of need.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” — 2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV
