Too many people today justify their actions, or their beliefs, by cherry-picking a verse or two from the Bible. When we do this, the only thing we accomplish is confusing others, and ourselves, who Jesus is. Jesus is not worshipped for one or two quotes, he is worshipped because of who he is and what he did for the world. If we are only seeking to find quotes from him to justify our own beliefs, rather than basing our beliefs on knowing Jesus personally, we are at best missing out on God’s grand design for us and at worst, indulging in sin believing ourselves to be righteous. The Bible says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” Today, change your life by studying – really studying – the Bible and speaking to Jesus in prayer each day. Seek to understand Jesus and know him personally; listen for his voice throughout the day. When Jesus truly works in each of our lives individually, collectively the world will change for the better.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
