Happy Labor Day! Today, most of us have the day off from work and can rest, relax, and enjoy time with family and friends. Work in life is a good thing, even though it can be at times exhausting and overwhelming. Filling our days with work towards our goals and fulfilling commitments to our family and employers is a recipe for a good life. What makes that life blessed is doing all this for the Lord. Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “And to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you.” Working hard to create a quiet, peaceful life for you and your family is a Biblical life goal. Today, remember what you work so hard for and use that to find greater purpose in Jesus.

“And to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,” — 1 Thessalonians 4:11 ESV
