There are many who are approaching the election as the day that everything will change — either towards their viewpoint or against it. While there are certainly political initiatives to be hoped for (no matter what side we each support), to view an election as our main source of hope is to ignore the true source of hope in our lives: Jesus. In Ezekiel, God says, “And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.” The change that matters most isn’t from changing politics or the government, it is the changing of a heart. If more people saw the changed life of a baptized sinner, they would care a lot less about what Washington, DC is doing on any given day. Today, recenter yourself to Jesus and allow Him to work in your heart for good.

“And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,” — Ezekiel 11:19 NIV
