Happy Elevated Friday! Today we highlight a story of one man who in doing a daunting and treacherous good deed was never left to fend for himself. Lynn Marchessault and her two children were traveling through Canada to Alaska to join her husband at the military base at which he serves, but along the way, snow and dangerous conditions prevented them from travelling further. COVID-19 protocols complicated things as well because they both forbade her husband from leaving the base to come help them and restricted the time Lynn had to travel through Canada to reach Alaska. She put out a plea for help online and fortunately, it was seen by Gary Bath, a Canadian who knew the predicament she was in. Even though the trek would be over 1000 miles, he drove their vehicle through the snow and delivered them to their destination safely. What is incredible is that word spread of his good deed and donations were given by random people to cover his airfare home. It is incredible how God blesses us when we step out to do His work.

It can be daunting to step out in faith and help someone in need, especially if we do not know how we will be made whole again ourselves. Whether it is giving money when the our own bills are tight, giving time when we have none to spare, or helping someone to their destination when we do not know how we will get home, God is there to make us whole again. Luke says, “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Today, trust that if you give from what you think you cannot afford in God’s name, He will make you whole again.
