The new year is knocking on our door and for many that is exciting; however, for some of us a new year is more daunting. When we are anxious about the unknown in our lives or dreading something we fear will happen, a new year isn’t so exciting. But God stands with us no matter what we face. The Book of Hebrews says, “So we say with confidence,“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” If for you, the new year is more daunting than it is exciting, remember that the Lord is your helper and nothing formed by man can overcome His will for you. Today and into the next year, stand strong in your faith and trust that whatever you face, God is with you.

“So we say with confidence,“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” — Hebrews 13:6

Thank you to all readers over the years! In 2021, or at least for a time, I plan to change Elevated Discourse to a weekly message rather than daily in an effort to write more impactful devotionals rather than just topical ones. Thank you for your continued support and I pray you all have a very blessed 2021! -- David Wren
