We hear the word truth used in all sorts of ways these days -- my truth, your truth, etc. We all like to tell the truths we like, and often ignore, or even hide from, truths we cannot handle or do not want to face. If we live life only focusing on telling the truth, we are more likely to only tell the truths we personally like. Life is about more than just telling the truth, it is about submitting to the truth. There is a reason that Jesus said "I am the truth..." and also "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." When it comes to truth, there is one truth that supersedes all: Jesus is King. When we humble ourselves, and recognize Jesus as Lord -- many of the "truths" we once thought of ourselves will melt away, thereby setting us free. Today, if you are struggling with what you believe about yourself or what you believe is happening in the world, start by recognizing Jesus as Lord and then view all other truths through that lens.
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” -- John 8:31-32
