We are constantly bombarded by the news with negative stories, tragic stories of loss, and bitter public arguments. As a result, it is easy to become anxious and fearful of the future. There are countless things that can go wrong in the world and countless ways for fear to creep into our lives. That we cannot control. However, we each have the option to trust in God and have faith that the world’s fate does not have to be our own. In Proverbs, it says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Our relationship with Christ is personal and individual. It does not depend on what the world does or thinks. Thus, the

world’s path doesn’t have to be straight in order for God to make your’s straight. Today, take heart in the fact that God will make your path straight when you choose to submit to Him and not the world around you.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
