We all face times when things are uncertain, when what comes tomorrow can make or break us, or when we feel overwhelmed by our responsibilities not lining up with the skills we have. It is these times that so many turn to God because they know that they have no control over what happens next, so they look to God believing that He must. They are correct in doing so, as God holds us all in his mighty hands. But waiting until things are most dire to seek help is never a recipe for success in life, nor is it a recipe for success with God. Recognizing God in our lives each day starts with a conscious decision and then blossoms into a relationship with his son Jesus. The first thing we must do, though, is recognize that He is present at all times around us. The Book of Zephaniah says, “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with ,gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Today, don’t wait until you feel most helpless to ask for help. Seek the Lord and ask Him to be your refuge, strength, and savior.
