As we all begin a new day, do not start yours with worry, doubt, and anxiety. If we come first to Jesus each day then He will join us throughout the day. For we all need something in the morning — for some it is caffeine, food, or connection to friends or loved ones with a text or call. But those things will not satisfy our spiritual need for guidance, comfort, and closeness with our Lord and Savior. In 1 Peter, it says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” We grow each day from the place where we start. Every morning spent with Jesus is another step forward towards your best life. This week, challenge yourself to spend your first waking minutes with Jesus before seeking any other type of comfort or need.

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” — 1 Peter 2:2-3 NIV
