In times of great stress and great anxiety over the future, what are we to do? How do we overcome something that seems insurmountable, or even completely beyond our control? One of the most quoted Bible verses is, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” While this verse is uplifting, how do we determine the right things to do? Something the Bible makes clear is that if we do what is pleasing to God, in the name of God, with strong faith in God, then God will provide everytime. Jesus said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Proverbs tells us, “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.” Proverbs also says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” When facing something insurmountable in your life, remember that you can overcome it (Philippians 4:13) if you seek God first (Matthew 6:33), focus your attention on where you’re going, not where you’ve come from (Proverbs 4:25) and commit yourself and your work to God (Proverbs 16:3). If we do this, the Bible tells that God will establish our plans – and a plan from God that we can walk through with God is always going to be better than one we create ourselves. Today, if you are facing something seemingly insurmountable, have faith that by giving it to God, He will provide.
