In times when fear, anger, and division are highest, our internal dialogue can actually be the most plaguing thing in our lives. While we see things going on around us, and even to us, that cause fear, it is our own thoughts on them that decide how we react. Will we react with compassion, confidence, and righteousness or with judgment, hate, and further division? When times are toughest, we must remember that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. In Romans, it says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Because nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, we are more than conquerors in every situation because of what Jesus has done for us. Therefore, we have no reason but to respond to challenging times with the compassion, confidence, and righteousness of Jesus. Today, if you are fighting a battle, and your thoughts on it are leading you away from Jesus, pray for clarity and guidance in Jesus’ name.
